Risk assessment

Known or expected hazards associated with the activity (Equipment, Chemicals, Procedures etc.) and measures to reduce the risk.

Chemicals:

• See Chemical hazards.
• Ensure proper disposal of all ethanol reagents.

Equipment:

• Use of syringes
• Use of glassware

Procedural:

Action to be taken in an emergency. 

• In case of fire - Inform a demonstrator or staff member immediately.
• In case of contact with harmful chemicals - wash immediately with lots of water. Seek member of staff for advice.
